Geotecnia Patagonia was responsible for leading the soil studies and providing the necessary ground improvements for the different structures planned at the “Haru Oni” Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant—one of the first plants in the world to produce carbon-neutral e-fuels using the energy and power of the Magallanes winds. The exploration campaign carried out was one of the most extensive undertaken by this consultancy, involving a wide range of tests such as test pits, boreholes with SPT tests, DPSH-Grizzly tests, static plate load tests, geophysical tests, among others. Given the particular characteristics of the terrain, this was the first project in Patagonia where helical piles were specified as the foundation system for its storage tanks.
